Photography

My work explores memory, time, and atmosphere through both traditional photography and digital abstractions created from my own images. I am drawn to abandoned buildings, street scenes, landscapes, and the heightened tension of night. These spaces carry traces of presence and absence—quiet evidence of what once was and what remains.

In my traditional photographs, I document fleeting light, architectural decay, and unscripted human moments. From these images, I begin a second process: digitally deconstructing and re-imagining them into abstract compositions. Structures dissolve into rhythm and color; reflections and shadows become gesture.

By moving between documentation and abstraction, I explore how perception shifts and how places live beyond their physical form. My work invites viewers to look beyond the surface and consider the emotional resonance embedded in overlooked spaces.

Recovering Humans

Created during the pandemic years, a collection of reinvented photography.  All having a nostalgic appearance, my longing for the past.

Taking photographs and transforming them into artwork exploring movement, time and imagination.

An ongoing documentary project paring biographies with portraiture highlighting people in recovery from life altering circumstances.  Uplifting & Hopeful.

It is said that Climate Change will cause life on the Earth to die.  While that is still debated, this is my attempt to show the last of each species kind.

About the Artist

In 2000 my wife and I joined a Harley-Davidson motorcycle group. We quickly became immersed in the lifestyle and culture. I was asked by the chapter president to become the photographer for the group. With my first camera in hand I became a self taught photo journalist. My photographic style is cultivated by looking for a new creative ways to portray my subject. A few night courses at local universities gave me more knowledge but studying the work of past photographers has continued to drive my quest to tell a story with each photograph.
